The longest cable project at the present moment is a 45000 Kilometer undersea cable and 24 terabytes of bandwidth will transverse through it to reach the Pakistan.

The new underwater 2Africa Cable headed by Meta(Facebook) will link 46 access points of Europe, Africa and Asia and will be connected to Pakistan through 45,000 kilometers of internet infrastructure.

The undersea 2africa cable is expected to be in Pakistan for operation by the year 2025.

With the new cable one of the fastest internet services is expected according to some representatives of the cable company. When fully functional, it will transform Pakistan internet services.

Main Points Project Success:

The TWA , Pakistan’s landing partner for the underwater 2Africa cable system has helped the government go a long way in enhancing world connectivity.

According to the data, there is 45,000-kilometer long undersea 2Africa cable connecting 46 locations of Africa, Europe, and the Middle East; it is one of the world’s largest submarine cable systems. It has 180 Tbps capability and operates with the SDM1 Fibre system.

 The undersea 2Africa cable is expected to be in Pakistan by the end of the year of 2025 through eight international partners among which are Vodafone and Meta.

The cable was to be landed on 1st December, 2024 at Hawksbay, Karachi for the initial start of phase one in which involves the installation of Pre – Lay Shore Ends (PLSE). On April 1, 2025,

Underwater 2africa cable lay will complete and start phase 2 from State-A to State-B.

This project will enhance access and improve the international telecommunication systems in Pakistan.
