PTA – VPN Registration Portal
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority PTA has launched a VPN Registration Portal. It aims to provide a “secure” environment for Pakistan’s IT and e-commerce sectors.
The PTA has split the VPN Registration Portal process in Pakistan into four categories.
For Businesses:
Businesses can register their VPN connections to ensure safe internet access.
For Freelancers:
 An employer provided authentication letter can be used to register freelancers.
For Call Centers:
To improve functionality and security, call centers are able to whitelist IP addresses. Organizations can whitelist IP addresses for video conferencing. This will promote smooth communication.
For Video Conferences:
Whitelisting IP addresses allows businesses to promote smooth communication.
PTA Whitelisting Requires Documents:
For Companies:
• The applicant CNIC.
• A letter of registration or proof of tax status.
For Independent Contractors – Freelancers:
• The applicant CNIC.
• A letter of authentication from the employer or business.
For Call Centers:
• The applicant CNIC.
• The letter of incorporation or proof of an active taxpayer.
• The PSEB‘s Call Center Registration Certificate.
• The cost is if there are five or more IP addresses (including whitelisted ones).
For Online Meetings:
• CNIC of the applicant’s letter of incorporation or a government agency letter.
• Charge for five or more IP addresses, including whitelisted ones.
